UAE President Welcomes Somali President for Diplomatic Talks

Today, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly welcomed the President of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who arrived in the UAE for a working visit. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi and was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence.

During their meeting at Qasr Al Bateen, both leaders exchanged greetings and best wishes for the holy month of Ramadan. They expressed their hopes for continued blessings, peace, and prosperity for their countries and their people. The discussions focused on strengthening the friendly relations between the UAE and Somalia, exploring ways to enhance cooperation in different sectors. Special attention was given to supporting Somalia’s development and stability.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s ongoing support in helping Somalia grow and achieve stability. He acknowledged the UAE’s efforts in assisting the Somali people in their journey towards progress and prosperity.

The meeting was also attended by several distinguished UAE leaders, including H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region; H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. Other notable attendees included H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, along with other sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, and UAE citizens, were also present at the gathering.

The visit reaffirmed the strong ties between the UAE and Somalia, highlighting their commitment to working together for a better future.
