He emphasized that the UAE's role is crucial in advancing China's collective cooperation with Arab nations, underscoring complementary interests and mutual benefits.

Economic ties between China and the UAE have flourished, with the UAE serving as China's largest trading partner in the Arab world. In 2022 alone, non-oil bilateral trade reached $72 billion, spanning sectors such as energy, logistics, tourism, technology, petrochemicals, and space. Additionally, the UAE has become a key destination for Chinese investments, attracting over $1.7 billion in 2023, which constitutes a significant portion of China's total investments in the region.
Ambassador Yiming highlighted President Xi Jinping's address at the 20th anniversary of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, where he outlined a strategic vision for enhancing collective cooperation in the new era. This forum, attended by leaders including Sheikh Mohamed, underscored China's commitment to fostering closer ties with Arab nations under the Belt and Road initiative.
The longstanding relationship between the UAE and China predates formal diplomatic ties in 1984, with historical visits by UAE Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to China in 1990. President Xi's visit to the UAE in 2018 marked a milestone with the declaration of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, further solidifying bilateral relations.
