Marissa Teijo, aged 71, made headlines as the oldest contestant ever to compete in the Miss Texas USA pageant, held in Houston over the weekend. Though she did not clinch the title, Teijo left a lasting impression with her talent and determination. Aarieanna Ware emerged victorious as Miss Texas USA on Saturday, June 22, following her previous win as Miss Dallas.

The Miss Universe organization recently lifted age restrictions for contestants over 18, aiming for greater inclusivity by allowing married, divorced, or pregnant women to participate. Teijo, who hails from El Paso, Texas, expressed enthusiasm about breaking barriers and making a difference at any age.
