The committee also looked at how the Housing Department is working with other authorities to speed up project completion and make housing services more efficient. The meeting was part of the committee’s official visit to the Housing Department’s office in Sharjah on Saturday. This visit was conducted as part of the committee’s work in the second session of the eleventh legislative term.
The meeting was led by Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Committee, along with other committee members. Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Housing Department, was also present.
A key topic of discussion was how future housing plans align with the broader vision of the department. The department plays an important role in following the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His goal is to ensure that Emirati citizens have access to good-quality housing that provides safety and stability for families.
Council members talked about the best ways to use available land for housing, making the process of getting housing grants easier, and speeding up the construction of homes so that people can move in faster. They also discussed ways to improve housing services to meet the needs of citizens across Sharjah.
Jamila Al Shamsi emphasized the committee’s strong commitment to the housing sector. She explained that good housing is essential for social stability. She also said that such meetings help the Housing Department improve its work and encourage better cooperation between government offices to provide the best services to citizens.
On the other hand, Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi assured that the Housing Department is committed to finding sustainable solutions for housing that meet citizens' needs. He shared that the department is continuously working to improve its policies and services in line with the leadership’s vision for long-term growth and development.
