Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the UAE Padel Association, presented awards to the winners of the local men’s and women’s padel tournament. The event took place at the indoor padel hall in the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.

This padel tournament was the final competition in the 12th edition of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, which is known as the biggest sports event of its kind. The tournament was launched and is supported by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. It takes place every year during the holy month of Ramadan at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.

The event is held annually under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, with the inspiring theme ‘Limitless Abilities’.

Wheelchair Basketball Championship

The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services team claimed the Wheelchair Basketball title after a convincing 43-28 victory over Dubai Municipality in the final, held at the Nad Al Sheba Complex’s main hall.

The winners were honored by Majid Al Osaimi, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Board Member of the Dubai Sports Council, along with Tournament Director Hassan Al Mazrouei and Ali Omar Al Balushi, Director of the Sports Development Department at the Dubai Sports Council.

There was more reason to celebrate for the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services team as Jassim Ramadan Murad won the Best Scorer Award for People of Determination. Additionally, Malallah received the Best Scorer Award for Non-People of Determination.

Volleyball Third-Place Match

Al Ameed secured third place in the volleyball competition by defeating Al Samawi 3-1. Even though Al Samawi’s Nicolas Mendez (24 points) and Anton (20 points) played well, Al Ameed fought back strongly. Luca Porro (18 points), Marko Sedlacek (17 points), and Veljko Masulovic (17 points) played key roles in Al Ameed’s victory.

Representing a team from Padua, Italy, Al Ameed had a slow start, losing the first set 18-25. However, they made a strong comeback and won the next three sets 32-30, 25-17, and 28-26, securing third place in the tournament.

Running and Cycling Winners

The winners of the running and cycling events were also honored at the tournament’s closing ceremony. Tournament Director Hassan Al Mazrouei, along with Ali Omar Al Balushi and Nawaf Abdullah, Executive Vice President of Container Terminals at DP World - GCC, presented the awards.

Sheikh Humaid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, was delighted to win first place in the 5km race.

“I appreciate the organizing committee for their outstanding efforts in arranging such a well-managed and prestigious competition. The Nad Al Sheba Tournament is one of the most significant sports events, bringing together athletes of all ages and nationalities. Winning the 5km race is a great honor for me, and I look forward to participating again next season,” Sheikh Humaid said.

Nawaf Abdullah, Executive Vice President of DP World - GCC, expressed his company’s pride in being the Diamond Partner of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament.

“This event brings the UAE community together through sports during Ramadan. This year, we were also honored to be the Principal Partner of the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Race, a 75km race held in Meydan. As a company committed to health and fitness, we are proud to support such initiatives,” Nawaf Abdullah said.

He also highlighted DP World’s commitment to sports partnerships that engage the community and create a positive impact.

“At DP World, we believe in teamwork, passion, and hard work—values that are reflected in sports. We are proud to support events like the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, the Dubai Fitness Challenge, and the Dubai Games. Many of our employees also participate in these events. This year, five of our team members took part in the obstacle course at the tournament.
