Qing this prestigious tournament is a significant milestone for Qatar, aiming to showcase the region’s capability in hosting such high-profile events. The national team's performance in the qualifiers is crucial, as it seeks to demonstrate its preparedness as hosts.
The team concluded its final practice on Wednesday night, refining defensive tactics and enhancing team cohesion prior to their opener. A successful start against Lebanon is deemed vital for boosting confidence for subsequent matches.
Following the home game, Qatar will head to Beirut for their second Group D encounter against Lebanon on Sunday at the Nouhad Nawfal Sports and Theater Complex. This away match poses a greater challenge, considering Lebanon's robust support and competitive capabilities. Group D also features Saudi Arabia and India, making it a highly competitive bracket where every game counts.
The Asian and Oceanian qualifiers comprise 16 teams, split into four groups.
