Priyanka Chopra has made a huge impact on the Indian film industry once again. Even though she hasn’t acted in an Indian film for six years, she is now the highest-paid actress in India. Reports say that for her upcoming film with famous directors SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, Priyanka will earn £2.7 million (₹30 crore). This makes her the highest-paid actress, beating Bollywood’s top stars like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Kareena Kapoor.
In the Indian film industry, actor salaries have always been a hot topic. Traditionally, male actors have been at the top of the pay scale, with stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan earning around £9 million (₹100 crore) per film. However, Priyanka’s new paycheck shows that the gap between male and female actors is closing.
Before Priyanka, Deepika Padukone was the highest-paid actress, earning £1.8 million (₹20 crore) for her role in Kalki 2898 AD. Alia Bhatt also charges around £1.3 million (₹15 crore) for each film. Other popular actresses like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu earn around £900K+ (₹10 crore+) for their movies.

Priyanka Chopra has not been in Indian films since The Sky Is Pink in 2019, and before that, Jai Gangaajal. Instead of only focusing on Bollywood, she built a strong career in Hollywood. She starred in movies like The White Tiger and The Matrix Resurrections, and she worked in the popular Amazon Prime series Citadel, where she earned more than £4 million (₹41 crore). Priyanka also has a film called Heads of State with Idris Elba and John Cena, which is set to release soon.
Her return to Indian films is a big moment, especially since her new movie with SS Rajamouli is very eagerly awaited. This film is also important because it marks Priyanka’s comeback to South Indian films after more than 20 years. Sources close to the project say it took time to finalize her role in the film because Priyanka refused to lower her fee, and she was right to do so. Male actors in the industry often demand much higher fees.
Apart from acting, Priyanka is a well-known global figure. She is a UNICEF ambassador, a producer, and an entrepreneur. Her net worth is reported to be around £55 million (₹650 crore), thanks to her work in Bollywood, Hollywood, and various top brand endorsements.
With her return to Indian films, Priyanka is not just making a comeback; she is also setting a new standard for female actors in the Indian film industry. Her success shows that women can earn as much as men in this field.
