OnePlus is planning to release a new phone called the OnePlus Nord CE 5. A recent leak has shown us what the back of the phone will look like. The design is different from the previous model, the Nord CE 4. The biggest change is in the camera design, which looks a lot like the iPhone 16. The phone is expected to be launched in India in May 2025 and will probably cost less than ₹25,000.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 will have a flat frame and a flat back, which is different from the curved edges of the previous model. The back of the phone is simple, with the OnePlus logo in the middle. The camera is located at the top left, with two large camera rings inside an oval-shaped space. Between the two rings, there’s a small dot, which could be a sensor or microphone. The flash is beside the camera.
This design is not new to OnePlus phones. Other phones, like the Oppo K13 and OnePlus 13T, have a similar camera layout. However, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 looks simpler and cleaner. The leaked image does not show the final color, so it could come in different colors when released.
In terms of features, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is expected to have a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. This means the screen will be smooth and fast. The phone will likely use a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip, which is also found in phones like the Oppo Reno 13 Pro and Realme P3 Ultra. One of the biggest updates is the battery. The Nord CE 5 is expected to have a 7,100mAh battery, much bigger than the 5,500mAh battery in the older Nord CE 4. The phone will also support 80W fast charging, so it can charge quickly.
Even with a large battery, the phone might not feel too heavy or thick because of a new battery technology that keeps it slim while giving more power. The phone will also have 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It will also have a hybrid SIM slot and a single speaker.
For cameras, the Nord CE 5 is expected to have a 50-megapixel main camera from Sony with OIS (optical image stabilization), which helps take clearer pictures. It may also have an 8-megapixel wide camera and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone will likely run OxygenOS 15, which is based on Android 15.
This new OnePlus phone looks like a big improvement, especially with its camera, battery, and overall design. It should be a great choice for people who want a powerful phone at a reasonable price.
