OpenAI is working on making its own social media app, like X (earlier called Twitter). The company is still planning and testing this idea. Nothing has been shared with the public yet.
Right now, the app is just a test inside the company. It shows pictures made by ChatGPT and has a feed, like other apps, where people can see and share these pictures.

The boss of OpenAI, Sam Altman, is asking people outside the company what they think about this idea. We don’t know yet if the app will be separate or a part of ChatGPT.
This idea might cause more problems between Sam Altman and Elon Musk. Musk, who owns X, helped start OpenAI but left it in 2018. Since then, they have not agreed on many things.
Earlier this year, Musk and other investors offered $97.4 billion to buy OpenAI, but Altman said no. Musk also took OpenAI to court last year. He said OpenAI stopped working for the good of people and is now only thinking about making money.
Later, OpenAI also took Musk to court. They said Musk tried to stop their work and was bothering them. Both sides will go to trial next year.
If OpenAI makes its own social app, it will have to compete with other big tech companies. Some of these companies are also making apps with smart tools inside.
Earlier this year, when people talked online about these new apps, Sam Altman replied by saying, “Okay, maybe we will also make one.”
Many big companies already have lots of pictures and posts from people. They use these to teach their smart tools. If OpenAI starts its own app, it will join this race too and maybe change how social apps work.
