Gulf News reports that the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has introduced a comprehensive set of administrative violations pertaining to Emirates ID card, residency services, and matters concerning foreigners. These violations are categorized into 14 distinct categories, with fines ranging from Dh20 to Dh20,000 depending on the nature of the infraction. One notable violation highlighted by an ICP source is the fine of Dh20,000 for issuing visas or entry permits to establishments that are inactive.
Among the violations listed by the ICP, three categories carry fines of Dh5,000 each. These include interfering with the duties of ICP workers, failing to cooperate with them, and neglecting to pay for services provided by the ICP. Additionally, there are six categories of violations that incur a fine of Dh500 each. These violations encompass various actions such as providing incorrect information to the ICP passport officer, misusing e-dirham transactions, and violating the work system in service centers.
Furthermore, the ICP has outlined additional penalties for specific infractions. Individuals who provide false information may face a fine of Dh3,000, while those who print their applications incorrectly may be fined Dh100. Additionally, failure to renew an Emirates ID card within 30 days of its expiration may result in a daily fine of Dh20, up to a maximum of Dh1,000.
These new administrative violations and corresponding fines reflect the ICP's commitment to ensuring compliance with regulations governing identity, citizenship, and residency services in the UAE. By categorizing violations and imposing penalties based on the severity of the infraction, the ICP aims to uphold the integrity of the immigration system and deter individuals and organizations from engaging in unlawful activities.
It is essential for individuals and entities in the UAE to adhere to the prescribed rules and regulations to avoid potential penalties and legal consequences. The clarity provided by the ICP regarding administrative violations serves as a guide for residents and businesses to navigate the intricacies of visa and residency-related matters effectively. As the UAE continues to enhance its regulatory framework, compliance with established protocols remains paramount to maintaining order and security within the country's borders.
