MobLand: Guy Ritchie's New Crime Series Starring Hardy & Brosnan

British filmmaker Guy Ritchie has made a new crime drama series called MobLand. This TV show tells the story of two strong crime families in London, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, who are fighting for power. The show has famous actors like Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. Tom Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a trusted man who fixes problems for the Harrigan family and keeps their business safe.

At the show’s big event in London, Ritchie talked about why he made MobLand. He said he has made crime stories before, but this time, he wanted to show how crime works inside a family. He found this idea new and different from his other work.

MobLand comes after Ritchie's Netflix show The Gentlemen, which was a big success in 2024. Ritchie is famous for making crime and action movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Sherlock Holmes. He also directed the Disney movie Aladdin. Now, he enjoys working on TV shows because they let him tell longer stories. He said he likes how TV gives more time to show details, and he finds it fun to work on both movies and TV.

Pierce Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, the powerful boss of the Harrigan family, and Helen Mirren plays his wife, Maeve, who also has a lot of power. Brosnan said he first read the story while working with Mirren on another movie, The Thursday Murder Club. They both liked the idea and decided to be part of the show. The show was filmed quickly, and Brosnan said it was a new experience for him. He worked on the series for five months, and the day after they finished filming, they were already at the premiere. He said he had never seen a show move this fast, but that’s how things are in the entertainment world now.

Brosnan has worked on TV before, in a show called The Son, and he said he was happy to return to television. He said working on TV is exciting because it moves fast and keeps actors sharp. If the story is good and the team works well together, making a show can be hard work but also very exciting.

The series also has music from Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of the band Muse. He worked with music composer Ilan Eshkeri to create the sounds for MobLand. Bellamy has made music for films before, but he said this was a new challenge because of how much music was needed. A movie usually has music for about 90 minutes, but MobLand needed music for 10 hours. He said they mixed rough, electronic sounds for the gangster world with beautiful string music to show the rich and powerful side of the Harrigan family.

The show was written by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth. MobLand will start on Paramount+ on March 30. With a strong story, exciting action, and famous actors, it is expected to be a great crime drama.
