His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has reaffirmed Dubai’s dedication to building a bright future while preserving its traditions and values. He emphasized that this vision aligns with the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who aims to make Dubai a global leader in humanitarian efforts.

His Highness made these remarks during the signing of a strategic agreement between the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and the Dubai Land Department. This agreement focuses on ensuring the sustainable construction, maintenance, and operation of mosques in Dubai’s real estate developments. During the event, Sheikh Hamdan met with donors, mosque patrons, and real estate developers. He expressed his deep gratitude for their contributions to building and maintaining mosques, recognizing their efforts in serving the community. He praised the strong collaboration between the government, private sector, and individuals, stating that such efforts reflect the spirit of generosity deeply rooted in Dubai’s society.

Sheikh Hamdan also highlighted the Mosque Sponsorship Initiative in real estate developments as a great example of how Dubai successfully brings together the public and private sectors to accomplish major projects. Over the years, the emirate has pioneered such initiatives to ensure the sustainable growth of the city. This initiative has received overwhelming support, with significant contributions from well-known real estate developers. So far, a total of AED 560 million has been raised, which will be used for building, maintaining, and improving mosques across different real estate areas in Dubai.

Several real estate companies have played a vital role in supporting the Mosque Sponsorship Initiative. Emaar Properties contributed AED 280 million to build 42 mosques in nine areas, providing space for up to 29,696 worshippers. Azizi Developments donated AED 80 million to support three mosques in three areas, accommodating 7,000 worshippers. Damac Properties gave AED 50 million to construct seven mosques in four areas, with space for 3,600 worshippers. ORO 24 Developments provided AED 50 million for six mosques in three areas, serving 3,300 worshippers. HRE Developments donated AED 50 million to build five mosques in three areas, catering to 3,000 worshippers. Danube Properties contributed AED 50 million for four mosques in two areas, offering space for 3,200 worshippers.

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the department’s vision of sustainability and community involvement in mosque development. He explained that collaboration with the private sector plays a key role in ensuring the continuous availability of high-quality religious services. He further stated, "This agreement reflects our commitment to encouraging social responsibility and engaging all sectors in supporting religious and humanitarian projects. It will help mosques become integral community centers that evolve with modern society."

Similarly, Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of the Dubai Land Department, said that partnerships between public and private sectors are essential in building sustainable communities in Dubai. He highlighted how real estate developers are showing their dedication to community development by supporting this initiative.

The AED 560 million raised under the Mosque Sponsorship Initiative will fund multiple projects aimed at mosque construction, maintenance, and enhancements. These mosques will serve over 50,000 worshippers across various real estate development areas. Dubai’s leaders and stakeholders believe that this initiative is a step toward strengthening corporate social responsibility and encouraging more community participation in charitable and social efforts. It aligns with Dubai’s long-term development plan, Dubai 2033, which focuses on sustainable urban growth and improving community well-being. Through this program, Dubai is working towards transforming mosques into centers of social, cultural, and spiritual development, ensuring they remain well-managed and accessible to all. The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the Dubai Land Department reaffirmed their commitment to expanding partnerships and encouraging all segments of society to contribute to the enhancement of religious facilities.

Several key figures from Dubai’s real estate sector shared their thoughts on supporting this initiative. Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, stated that Emaar is proud to partner with IACAD to improve the mosque infrastructure in Dubai. Their commitment is to ensure that mosques remain welcoming spaces for worshippers. Hussain Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of Damac Properties, mentioned that this partnership reflects their commitment to community cooperation and charitable work. Supporting the building and renovation of mosques is a great honor, especially in this blessed month. Mohamed Adeb Hegazy, Chairman of HRE Developments, emphasized that this initiative strengthens cooperation between the public and private sectors. Their contribution to religious and humanitarian projects is part of their responsibility to society. Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, announced that during Ramadan, they are pleased to build five mosques and contribute to the maintenance of ten existing mosques. Giving back to the community is a priority for them. Adel Sajan, Group Managing Director of Danube Group, highlighted that faith, unity, and community service are core values that define Danube. This project will enhance religious infrastructure and bring people together. Businesses must support social well-being. Atef Rahman from ORO 24 Developments expressed that Dubai inspires the world with its spirit of community building. They are honored to take part in this initiative and serve the community through mosque development.

The Mosque Sponsorship Initiative is part of Dubai’s broader vision to improve the quality of life by ensuring mosques are well-built, sustainable, and accessible. With strong government-private sector partnerships, Dubai continues to set an example in community development and social responsibility. This initiative will leave a lasting impact by reinforcing the values of giving, cooperation, and cultural heritage in Dubai’s growing urban landscape.
