The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has officially signed a cooperation agreement with Dubai Airports, aimed at strengthening collaboration to enhance passenger services and solidify Dubai's position as a global aviation leader.
At the signing ceremony, attended by HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, both parties expressed their commitment to providing world-class services and experiences for travelers passing through Dubai Airports.
HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement in supporting GDRFA's mission to deliver integrated and efficient services. He emphasized GDRFA's adoption of cutting-edge technologies and international best practices to elevate passenger experiences at Dubai Airports, positioning them among the world’s top airports.

Paul Griffiths echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the agreement's role in advancing Dubai's aviation hub status. He emphasized the collaboration’s focus on leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency across Dubai Airports. This initiative aligns with Dubai's broader strategic goals for its aviation and tourism sectors.
One of the key initiatives under the agreement is the enhancement of smart gate services. Passengers will now have easier access to information about smart gate registration via a dedicated link on the Dubai Airports website. This initiative aims to educate travelers about the benefits of using smart gates, enabling them to check their registration status before reaching the passport control area, thereby expediting and facilitating the passage through the airport.
Additionally, the partnership includes plans to integrate security systems electronically between GDRFA and Dubai Airports. This integration is expected to improve the efficiency and safety of security operations, further enhancing the overall airport experience for passengers.
GDRFA Dubai reaffirmed its commitment to innovation by continuing to introduce smart services like smart gates, which streamline traveler movements, save time, and enhance overall convenience at Dubai Airports.
