The forum had the theme "From Action to Impact." It focused on turning ideas into real changes in education. The discussions followed the Educators’ Competency Framework, which was created by ECAE. This framework helps teachers improve their skills, knowledge, and values to become better educators.
The event took place on Emirati Day for Education, under the theme "Education by Everyone, for Everyone." It covered four key topics. The first was about Emirati culture, values, and the Arabic language and how they shape learning today. The second topic used modern hologram technology to show how education helps in making a better future. The third focused on making schools more welcoming for everyone, including students with special needs. The fourth discussed how AI can help teachers and students by making learning more personal and effective.
Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education and Chairperson of ECAE’s Board of Trustees, spoke about the UAE’s strong plans for education. She said that leaders are working to solve current problems and make education better for the future. She also shared how important teachers are and how their hard work can make a big difference in students’ lives.
Dr May Laith Al Taee, Vice Chancellor of ECAE, said that the forum gave a great chance for teachers, parents, and experts to talk and share ideas. The event focused on improving teaching methods and making sure students learn in the best way possible. It also highlighted how AI and technology can be used in classrooms.
One of the special moments in the forum was the Educator’s Future Vision session, where Fatima AlKaabi, the youngest Emirati inventor, shared her story. She spoke about how teachers play a big role in inspiring young minds to be creative. Another session, called "Beyond the Impact," showed a video about the future of classrooms. It was presented through the eyes of a virtual character named Ahmed. The video helped people imagine how learning might change in the coming years.
The forum also honored 160 school mentors. These mentors help young teachers improve their teaching skills through the ECAE Mentorship Support Model, which works with the Ministry of Education. This model helps guide teachers to become better and more confident in their jobs.
Another important session, Voice of the Community, focused on how technology, youth, and community support can shape better education policies. It also talked about how schools can be more inclusive for students with special needs. The session included discussions on how parents, teachers, and the government can work together to make learning better for all students.
Several experts spoke at the event, including Dr Abdullah Al Shimmari from the Department of Government Enablement– Abu Dhabi (DGE), award-winning teacher Abdul Latif Abdulla Musabbah Alseyabi, and His Excellency Sulaiman Al Kaabi from the Ministry of Education. Other speakers included Farah Al Quissieh, the Managing Director of Speech Care Center, parent Mariam Alaryani, and Green Ghaya, a well-known environmental activist.
During the event, Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri witnessed the signing of an important agreement between ECAE and the Ministry of Education. This agreement, signed by His Excellency Sulaiman Al Kaabi and Dr May Laith Al Taee, aims to strengthen professional training for teachers.
The forum also celebrated winners of the Innovation Challenge. This competition was started by ECAE last year during Innovation Month. Three schools were awarded for coming up with creative and effective learning methods.
The Education First Forum has played a major role in improving education in the UAE since it first started. In 2023, the theme was "The Power of Educators," and it focused on how teachers shape students’ learning and success. The 2024 edition, "From Ask to Action," introduced ECAE’s 2024-2026 strategy and a new identity for the college. One of the key achievements was the introduction of the Educators’ Competency Framework, which connects teacher training with lifelong learning.
Over the years, the forum has helped bring positive changes to the education sector. It continues to create space for important discussions, cultural activities, and knowledge-sharing. The UAE remains focused on building a strong education system that prepares students for the future and helps the country grow.
