Hamad Al Marar, CEO of EDGE, and José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, signed the agreement in Madrid. Many important people were there, including Margarita Robles, Spain’s Minister of Defense, and Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE.
His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE, said, "PULSE is an important project that will help improve defense by making advanced radar systems. The partnership between EDGE and Indra will help fix gaps in defense and show how new ideas and technology can improve safety. It also shows our goal to create strong partnerships for progress and peace."
Marc Murtra, Chairman of Indra, said, "This agreement with EDGE will help us create new radar systems. It will include modern labs and testing centers in the UAE. This is a big step for Indra to grow its business and work even better with EDGE."
PULSE will focus on designing, making, and selling radar systems. This will open up many business chances. The joint company will have two parts. The first part will be mostly owned by Indra (50.01%) and partly by EDGE (49.99%). This part will design and maintain radar systems. The second part will be mostly owned by EDGE (50.01%) and partly by Indra (49.99%). This part will make radar systems in a new, high-tech factory in Abu Dhabi.
The new company will help increase radar production, bring the UAE new radar technology, share knowledge, and train local workers. It will hire skilled workers from Indra and young Emirati engineers, experts, and new graduates.
The company will also improve research by building better research centers, using new technology, and training workers.
Hamad Al Marar, CEO of EDGE, said, "PULSE shows how teamwork can help make the best radar systems and sell them to key customers. With high-tech production facilities, we are making the UAE a global leader in radar technology, shaping the future of defense for air, land, and sea. This also fits with our goal to grow the UAE’s skills and become more independent."
José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, said, "In Abu Dhabi, we will build a new high-tech factory to meet the need for advanced radar systems. This new company with EDGE will help us grow our defense business around the world."
PULSE will also manage radar orders from EDGE or Indra, and this project will help create new business chances in global markets.
