Dubai Launches DIFC Zabeel District, AED 100B Expansion

Dubai has launched the DIFC Zabeel District, a major expansion of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The new district aims to strengthen DIFC’s position as the leading financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, while enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a top destination for business and lifestyle.

Covering more than seven million square feet of land, the project will offer 17.7 million square feet of built-up space, with a total development value exceeding AED 100 billion. It is the largest demand-driven expansion of a financial centre in the region.

Sheikh Mohammed said Dubai is built on ambition and future-focused achievements, with a commitment to shaping global change. He highlighted that the new district will allow DIFC to host over 42,000 companies, support more than 125,000 professionals, and allocate over one million square feet for future technologies and artificial intelligence.

The Zabeel District will be connected to the existing Gate District through a signature bridge, creating a seamless extension of DIFC’s urban landscape.

The development will be completed in six phases, with public opening expected in 2030 and full completion targeted for 2040.

Modern Infrastructure and Lifestyle Features

The DIFC Zabeel District will feature a dedicated art pavilion, strengthening DIFC’s role as a cultural and art hub. It will include commercial offices, residential spaces, a central boulevard, a conference centre, hotels, luxury retail outlets, and advanced technology infrastructure.

The district will also offer green open spaces and biodiversity-focused landscapes to support healthier living and working environments. Its design focuses on connectivity, integrated living, and easy access across the community.
