Dubai Police Welcomes Philippines Interior Secretary on Official Visit

His Excellency Benjamin Abalos Jr., Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government of the Republic of the Philippines, recently visited the Dubai Police General Headquarters. During his visit, he was warmly received by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The two officials engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing the bilateral relationship between their countries, focusing particularly on security and policing.

Secretary Abalos and Lieutenant General Al Marri delved into strategies for improved collaboration and explored Dubai Police’s significant achievements in crime prevention. They reviewed detailed statistics that highlighted the Force’s successes in combating various forms of crime and examined its international cooperation efforts to address organized and transnational crime. This included Dubai Police’s partnerships with global security and law enforcement agencies to promote safety and security around the world.

Following their discussions, Lieutenant General Al Marri guided Secretary Abalos to the Command and Control Centre. There, they were briefed on the latest services and initiatives designed to enhance security across the emirate. The Secretary was shown the Centre’s advanced equipment, including a 3D map of Dubai and a new patrol dispatching system aimed at ensuring swift and efficient responses to emergency calls.

During the visit, Secretary Abalos was also introduced to the 'Drone Box' system. This innovative platform is designed to deploy automated drones for critical emergencies, aiming to cut response times to just one minute and assist in crime detection. He watched a short film demonstrating the system's effectiveness and Dubai Police's rapid response capabilities.

At the end of his visit, Secretary Abalos was presented with a commemorative shield by Lieutenant General Al Marri. The shield featured a three-dimensional replica of Naif Police Station, Dubai’s first police station, symbolizing the rich history and tradition of the Dubai Police force. The visit underscored the strong commitment to enhancing security cooperation between the Philippines and the UAE while showcasing Dubai Police’s advanced capabilities in maintaining safety and security.
