Dubai Police Arrest Gang Behind Hajj & Umrah Visa Scam

Post by :

Dubai Police have arrested a group of scammers who were tricking people by offering fake Hajj and Umrah visa services through social media. The gang pretended to be official agents and promised quick visa approvals at very low prices. Many people believed them and transferred money, only to realize later that they had been cheated. Once the payment was made, the scammers disappeared, blocked the victims, and could not be contacted again.

Authorities Warn the Public

Dubai Police have warned people to be careful and avoid falling for such scams. Officials have advised that Hajj and Umrah visas should only be obtained from licensed travel agencies in the UAE. Many fraudsters take advantage of religious occasions like Hajj and Umrah seasons to target innocent people who genuinely want to travel for pilgrimage.

How the Scam Worked

The scammers used social media to post advertisements offering cheap and easy visa services. They claimed that people could get approvals quickly if they transferred money online. Since the prices were much lower than usual, many people trusted them and sent the money. After receiving the payments, the gang stopped replying and blocked the victims.

Stay Alert and Report Suspicious Activities

Dubai Police have urged everyone to stay alert and not trust online advertisements that promise unrealistically low prices for Hajj and Umrah visas. They reminded the public to always check with authorized agencies before making any payments.

Officials also encouraged people to report any suspicious advertisements or fraud attempts. If anyone comes across such scams, they should immediately report them through the official e-crime platform at www.ecrime.ae. By doing this, the public can help stop such fraudsters and protect others from being cheated.
