His Excellency Prof. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, the Director-General of Dubai Courts, recently opened the "Smart Room" project, a significant step in the digital transformation of the judicial system in Dubai. This project is a crucial part of Dubai Courts' plan to modernize and improve how they provide services to the public.
The main goal of the Smart Room is to make judicial services more accessible and efficient. By using technology, the Smart Room aims to improve the user experience for those who use the courts and help the courts operate more smoothly. This initiative aligns with Dubai Courts' mission to deliver justice in a fast and effective way, making sure that the needs of the people are met. The project is also a reflection of the Dubai Government's innovative approach to public services, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in technology and innovation.

Mohammed Ahmad Al Obaidli, the Executive Director of the Case Management Sector, explained that the Smart Room represents Dubai Courts' dedication to offering cutting-edge services. He said, "The Smart Room reflects our vision to provide innovative services that increase user satisfaction and confidence. This project shows our commitment to improving the justice system through advanced technology, supporting Dubai's goal to create a fully digital society."
The Smart Room is designed to serve as a central hub, connecting users with different parts of the court system. It links people with the main building, Personal Status and Inheritance Court, Labour Court, Execution Court, and various service centres. The Smart Room is built to offer a seamless experience, using smart technology that reduces time and effort in the judicial process.
Al Obaidli also highlighted the advanced features of the Smart Room, which include an innovative design that uses smart glass for privacy, soundproofing, and a ventilation system with motion sensors. These features are meant to make the room more comfortable and secure for users. The room is also equipped with the latest smart devices, including tablets, ID readers, electronic payment systems, display screens, devices to call staff, and QR codes for easy document scanning and sharing.
The system also offers several advanced features, such as real-time translation, an interactive user interface, video conferencing, and digital payment and signing options. All of these features are designed with the highest security standards to ensure that users’ information is protected and kept confidential.
Prof. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi explained that Dubai Courts will monitor the Smart Room through a comprehensive dashboard. This dashboard tracks user activity and collects real-time feedback on satisfaction. Additionally, the system securely stores video conversations for quality assurance, staff training, and to improve processes.
Currently, the Smart Room is available in the main Dubai Courts building, with plans to expand it to other courts, including the Personal Status and Inheritance Court, the Labour Court, and the Execution Court. This expansion will further enhance the user experience and offer more flexible services for those who use the courts.
