Diriyah Company, the developer of the big City of Earth project in Saudi Arabia, has chosen IBM’s Maximo Application Suite (MAS) to help manage and take care of its assets. This project covers 14 square kilometers and is part of Saudi Arabia’s major development plans. It is backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and is worth $63.2 billion. The announcement was made at LEAP 2025, a big technology event in Riyadh where experts and business leaders shared new ideas about digital technology. This step brings Diriyah closer to becoming one of the most advanced and smart cities in the world.
Work on installing IBM Maximo has already started. This system uses artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor things in real-time, predict when repairs are needed, and keep everything working well. It helps prevent unexpected breakdowns, saves money, and ensures the city’s infrastructure lasts longer. By bringing together different functions like asset tracking, problem prediction, and live monitoring, Diriyah is making its systems more reliable and cost-effective.
This partnership with IBM will help Diriyah handle challenges that come with building a big city, such as managing resources wisely, reducing waste, and improving energy use. As the city grows, it will need smart solutions to deal with rising energy demands and increasing expectations from the public. With this system, Diriyah aims to set new examples for building modern, efficient, and green cities.
Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of Diriyah Company, said that working with IBM is a major step toward making Diriyah a smart and sustainable city. He explained that keeping assets in good shape is key to balancing fast growth with smooth operations. He also said this project is an important part of Diriyah’s journey in becoming a lively and well-planned city near Riyadh.
IBM’s General Manager in Saudi Arabia, Fahad Alanazi, shared his excitement about the partnership. He said that using AI and smart systems will help Diriyah operate at its best. The new system will not only keep things running without problems but also set new standards for smart city infrastructure.
Ziad Lamaa, General Manager of eSolutions Saudi Arabia, also spoke about the project. His company is helping install IBM Maximo for Diriyah. He said they have a lot of experience in managing big projects like this and will make sure the system works well and improves efficiency.
The IBM Maximo system also supports Diriyah’s plan to use both on-site and cloud-based technology. This mix of old and new technology will help Diriyah manage its infrastructure in the best way possible. This step brings Diriyah closer to its goal of being a model smart city, showing how modern technology can help build better and more sustainable cities for the future.
