The government of The Bahamas said on Tuesday that it is stopping all landings of SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets in the country for now.
They want to check everything carefully after a big rocket from SpaceX, called Starship, broke in space last month just minutes after taking off from Texas.

A government worker, Latrae Rahming, said, “We will not allow more rocket landings until we finish a full report to check the environment.”
In February, The Bahamas had allowed SpaceX to land a rocket in the country for the first time. After that, the government said SpaceX could land 19 more rockets by the end of 2025, if everything was safe and approved.
Last month, the Starship rocket flew up but then broke apart in the sky. It started spinning and stopped working. Videos on the internet showed pieces of the rocket falling like fire in the sky over South Florida and The Bahamas.
The Bahamas said some pieces of the rocket fell into their sky. They checked and said those pieces were not dangerous, had no poison, and will not hurt sea animals or water.
This broken rocket was not the same as the Falcon 9 rockets landing in The Bahamas. But the government still wants to wait and check everything before saying “yes” to more landings.
