Texas A&M put on an impressive display of basketball, scoring 120 points to defeat Mississippi Valley State 120-84 on Tuesday night at College Station, Texas. The Aggies never trailed in the game and continued their high-scoring start to the season. This marked the third time Texas A&M surpassed 100 points this season, a feat they had not achieved in the last three years.

The 120 points were the second-highest total in Texas A&M’s history, just behind the 127 points scored against Houston Baptist in 1976. Mackenzie Mgbako led the Aggies with 19 points and was one of six players to score in double figures, showing the team’s balanced offensive strength. The Aggies shot 47.1% from beyond the arc, making 16 of 34 three-point attempts. This followed their school-record 18 three-pointers in a win over Manhattan last Friday.

Ruben Dominguez contributed 15 points, including three made three-pointers, while Zach Clemence also scored a career-high 15 points. Jamie Vinson added 12 points and six rebounds, and Marcus Hill scored 11 points, going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Josh Holloway chipped in with 10 points and four assists. These performances highlighted Texas A&M’s team effort and depth, making them hard to stop on both ends of the court.

For Mississippi Valley State, Michael James was a standout performer with 32 points, hitting 7 of 10 three-pointers and scoring efficiently from the field. Samuel Murray added 13 points, and Lamont Sams contributed 10 points. Despite these individual efforts, the Delta Devils struggled with turnovers, giving Texas A&M 31 opportunities that the Aggies turned into 46 points. Mississippi Valley State has now lost six consecutive games this season.

Texas A&M’s success was not only in scoring but also in their defensive performance. By forcing turnovers and maintaining a fast-paced game, the Aggies kept Mississippi Valley State under constant pressure. Their defense helped the team dominate the court and control the flow of the game from start to finish.

During the game, Rashaun Agee was hit in the face with 13:56 left in the first half. He stayed on the floor for a few moments and was attended to by the team trainers. Agee later returned to the bench but did not play again in the game. Despite this, Texas A&M’s momentum and energy never dropped.

With this victory, Texas A&M improved their record to 5-2 and extended their winning streak to three games. Their high-scoring offense, combined with smart defense, shows that the team is ready for a strong season. The balanced contributions from multiple players make the Aggies a challenging team for any opponent moving forward.
