Xposure, the esteemed International Photography Festival organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, has officially announced the commencement of entries for the highly coveted Independent Photojournalist Award. Professional photojournalists are cordially invited to submit their entries until September 30, 2024, marking an opportunity for them to showcase their remarkable contributions to the field. Comprising three distinct categories, the award acknowledges excellence in various realms of photojournalism. The News Journalism category spotlights individuals adept at capturing the essence of unfolding events in real-time. Environmental Journalism celebrates those who confront the challenges confronting our planet's future, while Solutions Journalism recognizes the innovative approaches employed by photojournalists in addressing complex issues with tangible solutions.

Participants are invited to submit a maximum of 12 photographs, each portraying their unique perspective and storytelling prowess, vying for the esteemed recognition the award bestows.

HE Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, emphasized the award's significance in acknowledging the invaluable contributions of independent photojournalists worldwide.
