UAE hotels earned $9.12 billion in revenue during the first nine months of 2024. This success came from an impressive 77.8% occupancy rate and an 8% increase in hotel stays compared to last year, showing how much tourism has grown in the country.
Tourism in the UAE has been booming, with the hospitality industry seeing more demand than ever. The total revenue from hotels in the first three quarters of 2024 was AED 33.5 billion, which is about $9.12 billion. This is 4% more than the same period in 2023.

Hotels in the UAE’s seven emirates are doing well, with an average occupancy rate of 77.8%. This is one of the highest in the world. In total, the number of hotel nights booked reached about 75.5 million between January and September 2024, which is an 8% increase compared to last year.
These achievements were highlighted during a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Cairo, where representatives from the UAE discussed the role of tourism in boosting economic growth in the Arab world. The UAE emphasized the importance of tourism not only for economic reasons but also for cultural exchange and preserving Arab heritage.
The council talked about challenges in the tourism sector, like political issues, and discussed how to improve tourism within Arab countries. They also looked at how tourism can contribute more to the economy, create jobs, and help cities grow by building tourist and residential areas.
One of the key topics was a plan to create a regional tourism initiative called "Arab Tourism Region," to make Arab countries more attractive to tourists. The UAE is working hard to stay competitive in the tourism industry, in line with its Tourism Strategy 2031, which aims to make the country a global leader in tourism.
The UAE's efforts to improve its hospitality sector are helping strengthen its position as a top tourist destination.
