Former US President Donald Trump recently posted a video on his Truth Social account that appears to show an American airstrike in Yemen. In the video, several people believed to be Houthi fighters are seen gathering along a road before a powerful explosion hits the area. Trump shared the video with the short caption: “Oops.”
The video looks like it was taken from a military drone or a plane flying high above the ground. It is in black and white and shows dozens of small human figures standing in a loose group along a dirt road. A crosshair, similar to those used in military targeting systems, is visible on the screen.

“These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack,” Trump wrote in a message posted along with the video. He was referring to the Houthi rebel group from Yemen, although he spelled the name differently.
A few seconds into the video, a sudden flash of light appears at the center of the group, followed by thick smoke rising into the sky. Then the video cuts to a wider view, showing a large smoke cloud coming from the explosion site. Several vehicles can also be seen parked nearby.
Later in the video, the camera zooms in again and shows a large crater where the strike happened. No bodies can be clearly seen in the footage.
Trump added another message saying, “Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis,” and then, “They will never sink our ships again!”
In recent weeks, US forces have carried out several airstrikes in Yemen. These attacks came after the Houthi group targeted ships traveling through the Red Sea. The Houthis said they are attacking in response to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.
Houthi news outlets have reported that many people have been killed in these airstrikes, and they blame the United States for the attacks.
To strengthen its presence in the region, the US government announced that it would be sending a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to join the USS Harry S. Truman in the Middle East. The US says this move is to help protect international shipping routes, stop further attacks, and keep peace in the region.
