David Ezequiel Pereyra, the second man accused of giving drugs to British singer Liam Payne, has handed himself over to the police. He worked at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne sadly fell to his death from a third-floor balcony last October.

Pereyra is accused, along with 24-year-old Braian Paiz, who worked as a waiter at the hotel, of giving drugs to Payne before he fell. Paiz was arrested last week. In addition to Pereyra and Paiz, three more people have been charged with manslaughter. These include Payne’s representative in Argentina, the manager of the hotel, and the head of reception.

The police said Payne, who was once in the popular boy band One Direction, had taken a mix of cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription drug before he fell. This combination of substances may have caused the fall. Payne had talked before about having problems with drugs and how hard it was for him to handle being famous at a young age.

Payne, who was 29 years old, passed away in October 2023. His death led to many fans, family, and former bandmates expressing their sadness around the world. One Direction, the band he was in, had a huge following and was one of the most successful music groups of the 2010s. The band stopped working together in 2016. Payne's death has made people talk more about the struggles that famous people can face, especially when dealing with drugs and the pressure of being famous.

The investigation into Payne’s death is still ongoing. The people involved in the case face serious charges. This story has reminded people about the dangers of drug use and how fame can affect someone's mental health.
