Saudi Arabia is planning to stop giving some visas for a short time before the Hajj. This step is to help control the big crowd of people coming for Hajj and to keep everyone safe. Hajj is a big religious journey to Mecca. In 2025, it is likely to happen between June 4 and June 9, but many people will start coming by the end of April.

Saudi officers said that April 13, 2025, will be the last day to give Umrah visas. After that, people from some countries cannot get new visas until Hajj ends. This rule is not about any political issue. It is just to make sure the Hajj is better organized and safe.

People from 14 countries will be affected. These countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Indonesia. Some people from these countries have come on visit or Umrah visas and stayed longer to do Hajj. This is not allowed, because each country has a limit for how many people can do Hajj.

In 2024, more than 1,200 people died during Hajj because of hot weather and too many people in one place. That is why Saudi Arabia wants to stop such problems this year. They are using this new rule to keep the number of visitors under control.

The government said this visa stop is only for a short time and will end after Hajj is finished. It will help make the journey safer for all pilgrims.
