Salem bin Abdulrahman Joins Annual Sudanese Social Ceremony

Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, attended the annual event hosted by the Sudanese Social Center in Sharjah. The ceremony, held on Thursday evening at Al Zahra Hall in the Women's College at the University of Sharjah, celebrated the achievements of Sudanese creatives, exceptional high school students, and university graduates.

The evening began with the national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and Sudan, followed by recitations from the Holy Quran. A visual presentation showcased the Sudanese Social Center’s initiative to honor talented individuals and students.

Eng. Omar Ahmed Khojali, Head of the Sudanese Social Center and the Sudanese Community in Sharjah, expressed heartfelt thanks to the UAE leadership for their steadfast support of the Sudanese community. He specifically acknowledged the contributions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his role in founding and supporting the center’s various activities.

Khojali recognized the accomplishments of students and innovators, offering congratulations for their academic achievements and applauding the essential role of parental support in their success. He also acknowledged the professional excellence of Sudanese individuals in categories such as center activities, literary production, scientific achievement, media, and sports.

Dr. Awab Musaed praised the Chairman and Board Members of the Sudanese Social Center for their annual recognition of outstanding individuals. He highlighted the positive impact of this initiative in fostering academic and professional excellence within the community and the crucial role of parents and teachers in nurturing creativity and knowledge.

The ceremony included performances of national musical pieces by artists Dr. Saad El-Din El-Tayeb and Louay Abdelaziz. Sheikh Salem presented the Career Excellence Awards to Sudanese professionals for their contributions during the years 2023-2024, including Mohammed Naeem Saad, a distinguished artist and theatre director. Sheikh Salem also received a memento from the Sudanese Social Center in Sharjah.

The event honored outstanding graduates from secondary schools, universities, and colleges, including a student with the highest success rate among the recipients. The winners of the Sudanese Social Center Awards in Sharjah were also recognized.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Al Sadiq Sayed Ahmed, Deputy Consul General of Sudan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Engineer Omar Khojali; Counselor Murtada Al-Zila’i, Vice President of the Center; and various representatives from clubs and the Sudanese Business Council in the UAE. A large number of the honorees’ families and community members were present to celebrate the achievements of the distinguished individuals.
