Russia launches Soyuz rocket carrying defence-purpose spacecraft

Russia has sent a Soyuz-2.1b rocket into space with a special spacecraft for defence. The launch happened at Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, early on Monday. Russia’s Defence Ministry confirmed the news, saying the spacecraft will help in national security.

The Soyuz-2.1b rocket is used for many space missions. Some Soyuz rockets carry astronauts and equipment to the International Space Station.
