Pakistan Railways Launches Special Eid Trains with Discounts

Pakistan Railways has started special trains for Eid-ul-Fitr so people can travel easily to their homes. Many people travel during Eid, so these trains will help them reach their families safely and on time.

Three special trains are running on important routes. The first train left from Karachi Cantonment to Lahore on March 26. This train has 16 coaches and is stopping at big cities like Hyderabad, Rohri, Multan, and Sahiwal before reaching Lahore.

On the same day, another train left from Quetta for Peshawar Cantonment. This train has 11 coaches and is passing through important stations like Multan and Sahiwal. The third train will leave from Lahore to Karachi on March 27. It has 16 coaches and will stop at Khanewal, Multan, Sahiwal, and Rohri before reaching Karachi.

Pakistan Railways has also given a special 20% discount on train tickets for the first three days of Eid. This discount is for all types of trains, including mail, express, passenger, and intercity trains. The government wants to make travel cheaper so more people can go home for Eid without spending too much money.

This step was taken after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s orders. The government wants train travel to be safe, easy, and low-cost for all people, especially during big festivals like Eid.

Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is expected to be on Monday, March 31, 2025. This will be after 29 days of Ramadan fasting.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council says the new moon of Shawwal will be seen on the evening of Sunday, March 30. The moon will be visible if the sky is clear.

Khalid Ijaz Mufti, the Secretary General of the council, said the new moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, at 3:58 PM Pakistan time. By Sunday evening, the moon’s age will be more than 26 hours, which is enough to be seen by the human eye.

For the moon to be visible, it must be at least 18 hours old at sunset. This condition will be met, and in many cities, the time between sunset and moonset will be more than 40 minutes, making it easy to see. This means Eid will likely be on March 31 in Pakistan.
