In Peshawar, Pakistan, tragedy struck as Khalil Jibran, a journalist affiliated with the Pashto News Channel 'Khyber News', was fatally shot by unidentified assailants on Tuesday. The incident occurred near his residence in the Mazrina Sultankhel area of Khyber district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwest Pakistan.
Reports indicate that alongside Jibran, another individual named Sajid sustained injuries during the attack. The perpetrators fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. Police forces were swiftly dispatched to investigate the crime scene.

The Association of Electronic Media Editors has called for swift justice and enhanced security measures for journalists.
