One-Year-Old Bites Snake Mistaking It for Toy; Reptile Dies, Bihar Doctors Shocked

 An unusual incident over the weekend has left the community and doctors in Gaya, Bihar, astonished. Reports indicate that a one-year-old toddler bit a snake, mistaking it for a toy, leading to the reptile's death. Fortunately, the child is reported to be in good health.

According to sources, the incident occurred while the toddler was playing on the terrace of his home. The young child spotted the snake and, thinking it was a toy, picked it up and bit it. The snake, which was found dead shortly after, has left both the family and medical personnel in shock.

The child's mother explained that her son had mistaken the snake for a toy, as reported by Live Hindustan. The family promptly took the child to the local community health center upon discovering the dead snake near him.

A viral video from the health center shows the boy being carried by a woman as a man attempts to gently open the child's mouth. The man holds up a photo of the dead snake, which shows visible signs of being crushed.

Health center staff confirmed that the child was physically fine, attributing this to the fact that the snake was non-venomous and a common sight during the monsoon season.

This incident follows a similar, albeit more bizarre, event from July in Bihar's Rajauli. A man named Santosh Lohar had been bitten by a snake while sleeping and, in a desperate move, bit the snake back twice, believing this would counteract the venom. The snake died from the encounter, while Lohar was rushed to a hospital and survived after receiving medical treatment.

These unusual incidents highlight both the unique responses to snake bites in the region and the significant role of timely medical intervention.
