NVIDIA is getting ready to launch its new budget graphics cards — the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. While the company hasn’t shared official details yet, some important information has been discovered through shipping records, thanks to a report from VideoCardz.

According to these records, both the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti will use the "PG152" board and the GB206 chip. What’s most interesting is that these cards will come with GDDR7 memory, a big step forward from the older GDDR6 used in previous models. However, the memory bus size will stay at 128-bit, which some might find a bit underwhelming since it's the same as before.

Even though the memory bus isn’t changing, GDDR7 memory brings faster speeds. This means more bandwidth — up to 448 GB/s, which is 55% faster than what the RTX 4060 Ti offered. So, while the hardware design might seem similar, the improved memory will help games and graphics run faster and smoother. Most of the extra performance, or more frames per second (FPS), will come from this faster memory.

What We Know About the RTX 5060 Series:

  • RTX 5060 Ti will come in two versions:

    • 8 GB of GDDR7 memory

    • 16 GB of GDDR7 memory

    • Both versions are expected to have a 180W power rating (TDP).

  • RTX 5060 will be more affordable and will feature:

    • 8 GB of GDDR7 memory

    • Around 3,840 CUDA cores (these help with graphics processing)

    • A decent upgrade in performance compared to the last generation, mostly because of the faster memory.

Expected Prices and Launch Date:

  • RTX 5060 – Around $299

  • RTX 5060 Ti (8GB) – Around $399

  • RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) – Around $499

  • The release is expected to happen around mid-April.

In short, the upcoming RTX 5060 series may not change much in design, but the use of GDDR7 memory is a big deal. It could offer much better speed and gaming performance, especially in the mid-range price category. But the final decision for many gamers will depend on how much performance they get for the price. The budget GPU market is full of options right now, so NVIDIA will need to price these cards wisely to stay ahead.
