Newcastle United played a strong game and beat Leicester City 3-0 on Monday night. The match was at Leicester’s home ground, but Newcastle scored early and won easily. With this win, Newcastle moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table.

Jacob Murphy scored the first goal just two minutes after the match started. He was free and kicked the ball into the goal after a nice pass from Tino Livramento. A few minutes later, Murphy scored again. This time, Fabian Schär kicked the ball from far away — almost from his own side of the field. The ball hit the crossbar and bounced back, and Murphy kicked it in.

Leicester did not play well. They looked tired and confused. Newcastle scored again before half-time. This time, it was Harvey Barnes, who used to play for Leicester. He kicked the ball in from close range. Leicester had no luck either. One of their players, Patson Daka, hit both goalposts with his shot. But the ball did not go in. Instead, it rolled into the hands of Newcastle’s goalkeeper, Nick Pope.

After the break, Leicester tried harder. They played with more energy. One good moment came when 15-year-old Jeremy Monga came into the game. He is now the second youngest player in Premier League history, after Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri.

Newcastle had no problem finishing the game. They stayed calm and passed the ball well. This win gave them 53 points from 30 games. That’s more than Manchester City and the same as Chelsea, but Newcastle still has one more game to play.

For Leicester, it was another sad day. They lost their 11th home game this season. That is the most home losses they have ever had in a league season. Also, they made a new record — they are now the first team in English Football League history to lose eight home matches in a row without scoring any goals. Leicester has only 17 points from 31 games, and it looks like they will go down to the Championship, just like Southampton.
