Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited Dubai International Airport to check out Emirates' newest aircraft, the Airbus A350. This new plane is a big addition to Emirates' fleet.
The first Emirates A350 arrived in Dubai on Monday, November 25th. It was delivered from Toulouse and after its first flight to Dubai, it went to the Emirates Engineering Centre for finishing touches. Emirates said this A350 will start its first commercial flight to Edinburgh on January 3, 2025. After that, it will fly to several other cities in the Middle East, GCC, West Asia, and Europe by the end of 2025.
Sheikh Mohammed was joined by other important leaders like Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohammed took a close look at the new aircraft, its design, and the new technology inside it. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed explained how this new plane fits into Emirates' plans. They also talked about how Emirates will keep improving its services to make air travel even better for passengers.
The A350 is also designed to be good for the environment. It uses advanced materials that help save fuel and reduce carbon emissions. About 70% of the aircraft is made from lightweight and strong materials, including 53% composite materials.
The Emirates A350 has three classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. It can carry 312 passengers in total. This includes 32 Business Class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy seats. The design makes sure passengers are comfortable during their flights.
Sheikh Mohammed praised Emirates for its hard work and the great leadership of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed. He also recognized the efforts of the whole Emirates team, which has helped the airline become one of the best in the world for passenger service, safety, and comfort.
Sheikh Mohammed also talked about how important air travel is for the UAE. He pointed out that Emirates plays a big role in helping the UAE stay a leader in the global airline industry. Aviation connects people and opens up opportunities for growth and success around the world.
Emirates is a key part of Dubai's economy, contributing AED 75 billion to the city's GDP, or 15%. The airline also provides jobs to over 114,000 people, showing how important aviation is to Dubai.
Emirates' plans to grow are part of Dubai's Economic Agenda D33. This plan aims to expand the city's global reach by connecting to more cities. Emirates will help Dubai become an even bigger center for business, tourism, and investment, setting new standards for the global economy.
