Dubai’s new visa rules have made it very difficult for Indians to get a tourist visa. Before the rules changed, almost all visa applications were approved, with only 1-2% rejected. Now, 5-6 out of every 100 applications are being rejected every day. Even people who prepare all the documents carefully are seeing their applications denied.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently made its tourist visa process stricter. People applying for a Dubai visa now need to provide more documents than before. These include hotel bookings with QR codes and copies of their return flight tickets. For those staying with family or friends, additional proof of accommodation is needed, provided by the host.
A travel agent explained that earlier, almost 99% of visa applications were approved. Now, even travelers who attach confirmed hotel bookings and flight tickets are getting rejected. For example, a family of four, who made sure all their documents were correct, still had their visa application denied. This has left many people upset and confused.

The stricter rules are also causing money problems for travelers. When a visa is rejected, people lose the money they spent on application fees. One travel agent shared the story of two passengers who planned to stay with their relatives in Dubai. Despite submitting all the required documents, their visas were rejected. They lost ₹14,000 in visa fees and had to pay another ₹20,000 to cancel their flight tickets.
The UAE has also added a new rule where travelers must show proof that they have enough money to stay in Dubai. For a two-month visa, applicants need to have AED 5,000 (about ₹1.14 lakh) in their bank accounts. For a three-month visa, they need to show AED 3,000. Earlier, this was only checked at the airport, but now it is required when applying for the visa.
These new rules have made travel plans very difficult for many people. Even those who plan carefully and follow all the steps are not guaranteed to get a visa. Many are losing money on canceled tickets and hotel bookings. The new rules are meant to improve security and control the visa process, but they have made it much harder for Indians to visit Dubai.
