Inter Milan crush Lecce to stay close to Serie A leaders Napoli

Inter Milan won 4-0 against Lecce on Sunday, keeping up the pressure on Serie A leaders Napoli. The victory moved them to just three points behind Napoli at the top of the league. Inter's goals came from Davide Frattesi, Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries, and Mehdi Taremi. This win was their seventh in the last eight matches in the league.

Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, was happy with his team’s effort, especially since they had to travel after their midweek match in Prague. “We prepared well for the match, even though it wasn’t easy with the short rest and travel,” he said. “But the players did exactly what I asked of them.”

Inter Milan is having a strong season and is now four points ahead of Atalanta in third place. They also have one extra match to play compared to their rivals. Their next match is on Wednesday against Monaco, where they can qualify for the Champions League last 16.

Inzaghi’s team has been great away from home. They have won their last eight Serie A games on the road and haven’t allowed a goal in their last five away matches.

Inter could have won by a bigger score, as two goals were ruled out for being offside. But they still took control early. Frattesi scored the first goal in the sixth minute after a great pass from Marcus Thuram. Martinez added another goal just before halftime, his sixth goal in eight games. Dumfries helped Inter extend their lead with a clever backheel pass to Martinez. Taremi scored the last goal with a penalty after Frattesi was fouled by Lecce’s goalkeeper.

AC Milan also had a dramatic win, beating Parma 3-2 in stoppage time. Milan was losing 2-1 until two late goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Samuel Chukwueze turned the match around. Chukwueze’s goal in the final moments gave Milan the win. Milan’s next match is against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, where they can secure a spot in the Champions League’s top eight.

However, Milan’s manager, Sergio Conceicao, had a tense moment with the team’s former captain, Davide Calabria, during the match. Calabria was taken off as captain earlier this month and had a disagreement with Conceicao on the pitch. The issue was quickly brushed off, with Calabria saying it was a team matter.

Parma played well but left with no points. They are still just above the relegation zone in the standings.

In another match, Fiorentina won 2-1 at Lazio. This victory ended their six-match winless streak and brought them closer to qualifying for the Champions League. Fiorentina’s early goals from Yacine Adli and Lucas Beltran gave them the win. Lazio tried to fight back but couldn’t score enough to equalize.
