Hajj is a very special journey that Muslims from all over the world make every year. This trip takes them to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the five most important things a Muslim should do in life. Every Muslim who is healthy and has enough money should do Hajj at least once in their life. Hajj is not just a trip; it is a time to pray, say sorry to God, and become closer to Him.

In 2025, Hajj is expected to begin on the evening of Friday, June 6, and end on the evening of Wednesday, June 11. But the exact dates may change if the moon is seen on a different day.

Hajj happens in the last month of the Islamic calendar, called Dhul Hijjah. The journey lasts five to six days. During Hajj, all Muslims wear simple white clothes called Ihram. This shows that everyone is equal—rich or poor, young or old. The white clothes also help people focus on God and forget about daily life.

One of the first steps of Hajj is walking around a big black building called the Kaaba. This is called Tawaf. Muslims walk around it seven times to show their love for God and to feel united with all other Muslims.

Next, they walk between two small hills called Safa and Marwa. This is called Sa’i. This step remembers a woman named Hajar, who was the wife of Prophet Ibrahim. She ran between the hills looking for water for her baby son, Ismail. She did not give up. At the end, God gave them a spring of water called Zamzam. This water still flows today.

Another very important day during Hajj is called the Day of Arafah. This is the most holy day in the Islamic year. On this day, people stand on a wide land called Arafah and ask God to forgive their sins. Many people cry and pray with full hearts.

After this, they go to a place called Muzdalifah to pick small stones. The next day, they throw these stones at three stone walls in a place called Mina. This act is called stoning the devil. It reminds us of how Prophet Ibrahim refused to listen to Satan and stayed loyal to God.

Then, Muslims do something called Qurbani. They give a sheep, goat, or other animal in sacrifice. This shows their love and trust in God. This step remembers when Prophet Ibrahim was ready to give up his son for God, but God sent a ram instead.

Long ago, God told Prophet Ibrahim to leave his wife Hajar and their baby in the dry land of Mecca. Even though it was hard, they trusted God. That is where the Kaaba was later built. Now, Muslims from everywhere come to this place to do Hajj and follow the steps of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Muhammad.

Hajj is a time when Muslims clean their hearts, show their faith, and become better people. It is not just a trip—it is a gift for the soul.
