Ewen Ferguson Takes Halfway Lead at Hero Dubai Desert Classic

Scotland's Ewen Ferguson played very well on the last hole, making an eagle, which gave him a one-shot lead at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
For most of the day, it seemed like Daniel Hillier's score of 11-under-par would be enough for him to stay in the lead as they head into the weekend at Emirates Golf Club. But Ferguson made a chip-in on the eighth hole, finishing the front nine with a score of 32. Then he birdied the tenth hole from a short distance.

Ferguson looked to have lost his chance after six straight pars, but he made a long 30-foot putt on the 17th to get closer. On the last hole, his second shot hit the stand behind the green and bounced back to five feet. Ferguson then made an eagle, finishing with a score of 65 and a total of 12-under-par after the second round.

Daniel Hillier also made an eagle on the 18th hole, but in a more normal way, making a 15-foot putt, and finished with a perfect round of 65.

The two of them are ahead of the others. South Africa's Shaun Norris, Australia's Jason Scrivener, and English players Laurie Canter and Tyrrell Hatton are all tied for third place with a score of 8-under-par.

Organizers also said the tournament is completely sold out, as many people signed up this year. However, people who bought tickets can transfer them to family and friends using the Hero Dubai Desert Classic mobile app, so unused tickets don't go to waste.
