Dubai South & UPS sign deal to launch new facility in logistics district

Dubai South, known as the largest single-urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has partnered with UPS, a leading global logistics company, to open a new facility in Dubai South’s Logistics District. This agreement is part of UPS’s plan to expand its presence in the region.

The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organizations. Tariq Badri, Director of Business Development and Investor Relations at Dubai South, and Andrew Sleiman, Vice President of Legal for India Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa at UPS, signed the agreement. Also present were Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District at Dubai South, and Ismet Demirel, Vice President of Transportation for India Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa at UPS.

This new facility is expected to boost UPS’s operations in the UAE and improve global trade connections. With its extensive network, UPS aims to strengthen logistics services and make trade more efficient. The facility is planned to be completed and fully operational before the end of the year.

Speaking about the partnership, Mohsen Ahmad said, “Our collaboration with UPS shows our dedication to making Dubai a leading global logistics hub. This facility will enhance UPS’s operations, allowing for faster and smoother trade connections. We are committed to helping UPS grow by providing all the resources needed to meet the increasing demand for logistics services. Ismet Demirel also emphasized the importance of this development, stating, “Dubai’s excellent infrastructure and strategic location make it a key point in global trade. By investing in this new facility, UPS will be able to connect businesses in the Middle East with more than 200 countries worldwide. This expansion will help businesses of all sizes improve efficiency and grow in one of the world’s most important trade regions.”

Dubai South’s Logistics District is a key hub for logistics innovation, offering excellent services and seamless connectivity. It provides direct access to Jebel Ali Port through a bonded logistics corridor. The district consists of multiple zones, including those connected to the cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, EZDubai (a dedicated e-commerce free zone), and the Contract Logistics Zone.
