Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of the fourth season of the Farmers' Market, which will take place at Qur'anic Park for the first time. Starting tomorrow, Saturday, December 7, 2024, the market will run until February 22, 2025. This initiative is part of Dubai Municipality's commitment to supporting Emirati farmers, enhancing local agriculture, and furthering the UAE's food security goals.
The market offers a unique platform for Emirati farmers and small entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their agricultural, dairy, and home-based products directly to the public. This initiative aims to drive economic growth, promote sustainable land use, and encourage modern agricultural practices, aligning with both the National Food Security Strategy 2051 and Dubai’s Food Security Strategy.

Ahmed Al Zarooni, Director of the Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the Farmers' Market’s success since its inception. He explained that the market has become an integrated platform where Emirati farmers can connect with consumers, offering fresh, organic products directly from farm to table. The event has become a key annual activity that combines community engagement with national development goals. It also complements the "Plant the Emirates" program, which focuses on agricultural leadership and sustainability.
This year's Farmers' Market will feature a range of activities and services for both farmers and visitors. Farmers will benefit from visually appealing sales outlets and various support services, including consultations, training, and agricultural guidance to enhance the productivity and sustainability of local farms. The market also provides an excellent opportunity for small and home-based businesses to reach a wider audience and expand their customer base. Over the past three seasons, the market has welcomed 143,569 visitors and supported 135 Emirati farmers, highlighting the growing success of the initiative.
In addition to its focus on agriculture and business development, the Farmers' Market will offer entertainment, awareness workshops, and family-friendly activities, making it a vibrant community event. Visitors can enjoy high-quality local produce, engage with the community, and participate in educational experiences, all while supporting sustainable farming practices. Al Zarooni expressed optimism about the upcoming season, anticipating significant participation from residents, tourists, and visitors.
The Farmers' Market at Qur'anic Park is set to be a key event on Dubai’s winter calendar, combining commerce, entertainment, and education to create a memorable experience for all. This initiative reflects Dubai Municipality's dedication to fostering local talent, promoting sustainability, and contributing to the UAE's food security objectives.
