Curry drops 37, Warriors beat Lakers in big matchup

Stephen Curry played very well and scored 37 points. His teammate Brandin Podziemski also played great and scored 28 points. The Golden State Warriors won the game against the Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 123-116. This was their fourth win in a row.

Podziemski made 8 three-point shots, which is the most he has made in one game. Curry didn’t shoot many threes this time but still helped the team win. A few days earlier, he had scored 52 points in another game.

LeBron James was the best player for the Lakers. He scored 33 points and gave 9 passes for baskets. Austin Reaves scored 31 points, Rui Hachimura had 24, and Luka Doncic had 19. But Doncic missed all 6 of his three-point tries.

Near the end of the game, the Lakers came close. Doncic made a basket and the score became 105-99. Then Curry and Podziemski made two three-pointers. James and Reaves also made threes, but the Lakers were still behind.

In the third part of the game, James and Curry both scored a lot. James scored 12 out of his team’s 14 points at one time. Curry answered with 13 points in a row and made 3 free throws. The Warriors then led 88-77 before the last part of the game.

Jonathan Kuminga also helped with 18 points and 9 rebounds from the bench. This was the Warriors’ first win against the Lakers this season. They had lost the last 3 games. It was also their first win in Los Angeles after a year.

The Warriors just finished playing 6 away games. They won 4 out of 6. Now they are trying to stay in the top 6 teams so they don’t have to play in the extra play-in round.

LeBron James made history too. He scored his 11,000th point for the Lakers with a three-point shot. Only 9 other players have done that for the team.

Late in the game, Reaves made a three-pointer and the score became 121-116. Then Doncic fouled Curry. Curry made both free throws and the Warriors won the game.

Fun Fact:
Jimmy Butler didn’t score much in this game — only 11 points. He had scored 27 in the game before.

Next Matches:
The Warriors will play at home against Denver on Saturday. The Lakers will play against New Orleans on the same day.
