CCTV shows suspect in Rameshwaram cafe blast inside for 9 minutes.

New CCTV footage from Bengaluru reveals crucial details about the suspect involved in the bombing at The Rameshwaram Cafe. The footage captures the suspect, wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a baseball hat, arriving at the cafe from a nearby bus stand at 11:34 am on Friday. He is seen talking on a mobile phone as he enters the cafe. Subsequently, another footage shows the suspect leaving the cafe hurriedly at 11:43 am, just nine minutes after he arrived.

The evidence suggests that the suspect spent only a brief period inside the cafe before leaving. It was later discovered that he had left behind a bag containing an improvised explosive device (IED) which detonated, injuring ten people, including cafe staff.

Following the incident, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the case from the Bengaluru Police, who initially filed charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Substances Act. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara stated that the investigation is ongoing, with eight teams formed to explore various leads and collect CCTV footage.

Concerns were raised about a possible connection to a blast in Mangaluru, given the similarity in materials used. However, authorities are yet to confirm any link. The arrival of the National Security Guards (NSG) underscores the seriousness of the situation, with efforts underway to apprehend the suspect. A briefing with the Chief Minister was held to discuss the progress of the investigation and ensure swift action in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
