Brand Dubai has officially announced the successful conclusion of the Hatta Winter initiative, which saw an incredible turnout of visitors from all over the UAE and the region. The event was launched under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. It aimed to highlight the beauty and culture of Hatta and offer a variety of unique experiences during the cooler months.
The initiative was part of the #DubaiDestinations campaign and was supervised by the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta. Over the course of a month, five different festivals took place, attracting over 870,000 visitors. These festivals included cultural, entertainment, and community activities, making Hatta a must-visit destination for residents and tourists alike.

The five main festivals were:

Hatta Cultural Nights presented by Dubai Culture
Hatta Honey Festival and Hatta Farming Festival, both organized by Dubai Municipality
Hatta x DSF, which was led by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET)
Each of these festivals provided something special for everyone. The five festivals were organized in collaboration with government bodies like the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Culture, Dubai Sports Council, and DET. Many private and semi-government organizations also contributed to making the events successful.
The initiative was a huge hit on social media as well. The hashtag #HattaWinter generated more than 2.4 million interactions, and the initiative’s videos received over 60 million views. This shows how much people from the UAE, the region, and even around the world were interested in what Hatta had to offer.
Key Highlights of the Festivals:
Hatta Winter Festival: This was the biggest festival with more than 650,000 visitors. It featured over 120 workshops, 14 different events, and 80 TV episodes. The festival was a celebration of everything unique about Hatta, including its local farms and businesses. One of the main attractions was the Hatta Mountain Light Shows, and there were many educational and fun activities for children.
Hatta Cultural Nights: This festival focused on the history and culture of Hatta and attracted over 100,000 visitors. It was full of heritage activities, art shows, and performances, helping people learn more about the region’s rich cultural history.
Hatta Honey Festival: The Honey Festival was especially important for supporting local beekeepers. It featured workshops and entertainment performances, and over 10,000 people attended. The festival showcased the work of local honey producers, contributing to the growth of the UAE’s honey industry.
Hatta Farming Festival: Over 10,000 visitors attended this festival, which showcased local produce from 25 farmers in Hatta. There were also many workshops and live shows focused on farming.
Hatta x DSF: This festival was a part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, offering fun outdoor activities and attracting around 100,000 visitors. There were also fireworks displays on weekends, adding to the excitement.
Sports and Other Activities:
In addition to the festivals, there were plenty of sports activities for visitors. The Hatta Running Championship, organized by the Hatta Sports, Cultural, and Social Club, had over 1,000 participants. There were also outdoor spinning sessions, yoga, and horse riding events, all set in the stunning natural scenery of Hatta.
Support from Partners and Community:
The Hatta Winter initiative was made possible because of strong teamwork between all the partners involved. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, praised the collaboration, saying it was key to the success of the event.
“The success of the Hatta Winter initiative shows how well we can work together to showcase Hatta’s attractions. It also played an important role in supporting local businesses and promoting the region’s culture,” she said.
The festival’s strong engagement was also seen in the media, with over 1,700 news reports covering the event, and 82% of them were from within the UAE. The local TV channel Sama Dubai aired programs that brought the events to life, connecting viewers with the traditions of the region.
Transportation and Safety:
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) made sure visitors could travel easily with special bus services and over 1,100 parking spaces. They also provided shuttle buses to transport people from parking areas to the event venues. Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services also played an important role in keeping everyone safe.
Looking to the Future:
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, said that the success of Hatta Winter showed how the region’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and historical value could be highlighted. She emphasized that the initiative helped strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading tourism destination.
With the great success of this year’s Hatta Winter, the initiative looks set to continue growing in the future, bringing more visitors to this beautiful, unique part of Dubai. The events not only helped boost tourism but also supported the local economy and the region’s development.
