9-Year-Old Boy Dies in E-Scooter Accident in Sharjah, UAE

Sharjah: A tragic accident in the Al Falj area of Sharjah claimed the life of a nine-year-old Arab boy who was riding an electric scooter. The child was crossing the road when a speeding car hit him, leading to severe injuries.

The accident happened on Thursday morning. Sharjah Police received an emergency call reporting that a child on an e-scooter had been seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle. Traffic patrols and national ambulance teams rushed to the scene and found the boy in critical condition. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but despite all efforts, he could not be saved.

Authorities confirmed that the driver involved in the accident has been arrested and taken to Wasit Police Station for further investigation. Initial findings revealed that the boy was trying to cross the road when the tragic incident took place. The police are continuing their investigation to determine all the details.

This heartbreaking incident comes at a time when the Sharjah Traffic and Patrols Department has been running a campaign to control the use of electric scooters, bicycles, and motorcycles on main roads and pedestrian areas. Officials have been urging riders to follow safety rules to avoid such accidents.

Police have once again reminded parents to ensure their children use e-scooters only in safe areas and under supervision. They also stressed the importance of road safety awareness to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
