Dave Folio from the Scottsdale Fire Department said that four other people were hurt in the crash. One person was still stuck inside the plane, and rescue teams were trying to get them out. Three others were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officials do not know yet why the plane lost control. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane was a Learjet 35A. It went off the runway and hit a Gulfstream 200 jet that was not moving. The FAA is now looking into what happened.
This crash happened at a time when people are worried about air safety in the United States. Investigators are already studying three other deadly crashes. One was a midair crash between a passenger plane and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington, D.C., which killed 67 people. Another was a medical jet crash in Philadelphia that killed seven people. The third was a plane crash in Alaska where ten people lost their lives.
Officials are still trying to find out what caused the Scottsdale crash. Rescue teams and investigators are working on the case.
