Vietnam's Q1 2025 GDP Grows 6.93%, Highest Since 2020

Vietnam's economy grew by 6.93% in the first three months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO). This is the highest growth rate for the first quarter since 2020.

This growth was driven by three main sectors: farming and fishing, industry and construction, and services.

The farming, forestry, and fishing sector grew by 3.74%, while the industry and construction sector expanded by 7.42%. The services sector, which includes areas like tourism, banking, and retail, saw the biggest increase at 7.7%.

In terms of contribution to the overall growth, the services sector added the most at 53.74%. Industry and construction contributed 40.17%, and farming and fishing made up 6.09%.

This strong start to the year shows that Vietnam's economy is recovering well and picking up speed after facing tough times in the past.
