Dubai: Rainfall persists across various parts of the UAE since the early hours of Tuesday morning, continuing the trend of heavy to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, observed across the region on Monday night.
The precipitation has led to moderate-scale flooding particularly in mountainous regions. Sharjah and Al Ain experienced heavy rain along with thunder and hailstorms late into Monday night, with forecasts indicating the likelihood of further rain until Wednesday.

@Storm_ae, an Instagram account, has shared videos depicting the intensity of the weather conditions in Al Ain, showcasing heavy rain, hail, and thunder. Similar footage capturing heavy to moderate rainfall has been shared for the northern and eastern parts of the UAE.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) warns of unstable weather conditions, with skies expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy. Residents should anticipate rainfall of varying intensities, along with lightning and thunder across scattered areas, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures.
According to weather reports, moderate to heavy rain has been recorded in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah. Additionally, moderate to heavy rainfall has been reported in Tarif, Al Mirfa, Al Hamra, and Um Laylah in the Al Dhafra region.
Specifically, heavy rain has been noted at Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai) and Zayed International Airport (Abu Dhabi). Motorists are urged to exercise caution and drive slowly, especially in areas where roads may be slippery due to rain.
Temperatures across the UAE are expected to range between 32 and 37°C in internal regions, 28 to 34°C along coastal areas and islands, and 16 to 21°C in mountainous regions. Humidity levels are forecasted to be moderate, ranging from 70-85 per cent in coastal areas and 45-65 per cent in mountainous regions.
Furthermore, the sea conditions are expected to be rough to very rough, with cloudy skies anticipated in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
