Tencent unveils new AI model, claims faster replies than DeepSeek-R1

Tencent, a big tech company from China, has made a new smart computer program called Hunyuan Turbo S. The company says this program can answer questions faster than DeepSeek R1, which is a very famous smart program. Many people in China and other countries use DeepSeek R1. Because of this, big companies are working hard to make better smart programs.

Tencent launched Hunyuan Turbo S on Thursday. The company said this program can answer in less than one second. Other smart programs, like DeepSeek R1 and Hunyuan T1, take more time to "think" before they answer. But Turbo S gives fast answers without waiting.

Tencent also said that Turbo S is very good at knowledge, math, and logical thinking. The company compared it to DeepSeek-V3, which is the smart program behind DeepSeek’s chatbot. DeepSeek-V3 has become more popular than ChatGPT and has been downloaded many times in app stores.

DeepSeek has changed the smart program world. Its fast growth has made big companies work harder to improve their smart programs. Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT in 2022, Chinese companies have been working to make better programs. When DeepSeek-R1 was launched, it surprised the tech world and even made some company stocks go down.

Alibaba, another big company, also joined the race and launched Qwen 2.5-Max. Alibaba said their smart program is better than DeepSeek-V3. Now, Tencent is also trying to make a strong smart program with Hunyuan Turbo S.

Tencent also said that Turbo S is much cheaper to use than older models. DeepSeek gives smart programs at a low price, so other companies are also making their programs cheaper.
