Alejandro Tabilo surprised everyone by beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, at the Monte Carlo Masters. Tabilo, who is not one of the top players in the tournament, played very well and kept his winning record against Djokovic. He had also beaten him last year in Rome.

Djokovic, who is one of the best tennis players in history with 24 Grand Slam wins, had hoped to do well in Monte Carlo. He did not play the first round, so this was his first match. But he made many mistakes and could not play his best. He made 29 unforced errors during the match.

After the match, Tabilo said he was nervous before the game because this year has been hard for him. But he remembered how he beat Djokovic last time and tried to do the same things. He said, “I served well today and that helped me a lot. It was a great match.”

Tabilo has now beaten Djokovic two times, and he has not lost a set to him yet. Only two other players – Marat Safin and Jiri Vesely – have played Djokovic more than once and never lost to him.

Djokovic is 37 years old and was trying to win his 100th big tournament. If he had won Monte Carlo again, he would have been the first player to win every Masters event three times.

But Djokovic was not happy with how he played. He said, “I wanted to play at least okay. But this was very bad. I knew it would be a hard match, and I might not play well. But I didn’t think it would be this bad.”

He also said he felt bad for the fans who watched the match. “It’s a terrible feeling to play like this. I’m sorry for all the people who had to see it,” he said.

Tabilo had a poor start this year. Before this tournament, he won only 2 matches and lost 9. He even lost his first 6 matches in a row. But things have changed now. “It’s been a hard time for me, even in my personal life. But we’ve been working on things. Now I feel a little better with each match,” he said.

This win is very big for Tabilo and could help him do even better in the next tournaments. Djokovic will try to come back stronger in the upcoming matches.
